Depreciating TLS 1.0 & 1.1

Depreciating TLS 1.0 & 1.1

In a previous post, we had notified of Microsoft putting the depreciation of basic auth on hold due to COVID-19.

While that portion does not have a new depreciation date set, the depreciation of TLS 1.0 and 1.1 do, with a new planned depreciation date of October 15, 2020.

On Windows 10, 8, or 8.1

By default, the TLS 1.2 and 1.1 protocols are available if no network devices are configured to reject TLS 1.2 traffic.

On Windows 7

TLS 1.1 and 1.2 protocols are not available without the KB 3140245 update.

Other Devices

Any other device that connects to Microsoft 365/Office 365 will need to support TLS 1.2 in order to continue functioning.
Please plan migrations to newer devices prior to the depreciation date of October 15, 2020 if your business relies on those devices and services they provide.

If you need assistance with any portion of this process, please feel free to submit a ticket, and one of our technicians will assist as soon as possible.

For more information you can read the Microsoft update here.
